DEND provides input for NDDOT report

Following the 2019 North Dakota Legislative Session, the Interim Agriculture & Transportation Committee charged the North Dakota Department of Transportation with studying several issues related to electric vehicle infrastructure:

  • Design jointly owned public and private network
  • Make recommendations regarding EV charging infrastructure
  • Review costs and benefits of various options and future economic impact

DriveElectricND and the Lignite Energy Council provided some valuable information for this report, particularly on charging infrastructure and where the current charging hubs are located. Interestingly, that data is now outdated, as more charging opportunities have come online since the report was drafted.

The report will provide the basis for any regulatory or legislative activity in the upcoming 2021 Session which begins January 5.
